Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd’s generous increase to its scholarship funding to Civil Engineering

The KLOHN Crippen Berger Scholarship in Memory of Walter Skukin, has been endowed by Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd. and the Paul Poohachow family.  Walter Skukin graduated in Civil Engineering from UBC in 1970, and was a highly esteemed member of Klohn Leonoff Ltd. from the time of his graduation to his death in 1986. This scholarship, made on the recommendation of the Department of Civil Engineering, is awarded annually to an undergraduate student entering fourth year in Civil Engineering with a high academic standing and participation in other university or professional activities.

During the Klohn Crippen Berger 60th Anniversary Celebration, held on June 8, 2011 at the Vancouver Convention Centre, Mr. Bryan Watts, President and CEO, presented a cheque in the amount of $60,000 to Dr. Jonathan Fannin, Professor and Associate Head of the UBC Civil Engineering Graduate Program.

This generous amount effectively doubles the existing Klohn Crippen Berger scholarship fund (which the company put in place several years ago), and brings the annual disbursement to $5000 each year.
