The curriculum at the Department of Civil Engineering at UBC is designed to give you a well-rounded experience in all the disciplines in civil engineering. In second- and third-year, we offer a comprehensive overview of structural, environmental, geotechnical, hydrotechnical, materials, and transportation engineering which allows you to select options that interest you from your fourth-year technical electives.
Our program is finishes off with a capstone design project course to give you extensive experience in engineering design, taught by knowledgeable professional engineers.
Our program is fully certified by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation board, meaning that you are eligible to apply for Engineer-in-Training status upon graduation. This is the first step towards becoming a full licensed Professional Engineer.
