Biography
Dr. Jasmin Jelovica joined UBC in 2017 with a joint appointment in the Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He received his D.Sc. (Tech.) from Aalto University in Finland and M.Sc. (Naval Arch.) from the University of Rijeka in Croatia. His research focuses on development of computational methods for structural analysis and optimization, assisted by scientific machine learning, applied to lightweight, multifunctional structures for improved mechanical response, strength and resistance to environmental degradation.
