QS World University Rankings has ranked UBC Civil Engineering No. 1 in Canada and 26th in the world for 2015. Regarded as one of the three most influential and widely observed university measures, the rankings by British company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) are based on the weighted combination of the results from a survey of academics around the world (40%), citations per faculty (20%), faculty-to-student ratios (20%), a survey of employers (10%), and finally international student ratio and international staff ratio (5% each).
