Modern and advanced research facilities are available to graduate students in the Materials program. There is a 500 square meter laboratory devoted solely to materials research. This lab allows students to design, mix and cast experimental concrete materials in various types of mixing equipment. We have facilities for accelerated aging and weathering of samples. Our labs also contain several types of equipment used to measure various mechanical properties of materials. There is also a state-of-the-art shotcrete facility. Graduate students in the Materials program also have access to other analytical facilities which include both a transmission and a scanning electron microscope. There are also several types of NDT equipment available for graduate students to use both in the laboratory and in the field.
