Vancouver, Canada—May 12, 2011—UBC Faculty of Applied Science faculty and students met with His Excellency, the Right Honourable David L. Johnston recently to discuss “innovation as unique to UBC”. Professors Elizabeth Croft (MECH) and Don Mavinic (CIVL) and students Tagg Jefferson (IGEN), Ricky Gu (ECE) and Mustafa Abousaleh (ECE) from Applied Science were selected to participate in the panel discussion due to their significant innovative contributions.
