Civil engineering alumni receive architectural award

Congratulations to alumni Paul Fast (BASc Civil 1981) and Gerald Epp (BASc Civil 1981, MEng Civil 1983) partners of Fast + Epp, which was recently recognized with the World Architecture News Engineering Award for 2012. Their project, the Visitor Centre for the VanDusen Botanical Gardens, was noted for its “cunning blend of technology” which widened the boundaries of engineering. The VanDusen Gardens are a Vancouver landmark.
Mr. Fast will be speaking as part of UBC the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture Public Lecture Series on October 15th, 2012, on timber engineering and structures.
