Civil students win top prize at WEFTEC Design Competition

Four Civil Engineering graduate students were part of the team of five that took home a top prize at the Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) Student Design Competition in Chicago in fall 2013.

Christopher Lawson, Laith Furation (CHBE), Michal Simhon, Connor Wilson, and Rony Das earned the opportunity to compete in this continent-wide event, after placing first in the provincial competition hosted by BC Water & Waste Association. Their design, which addressed the best use for concentrated algal cells produced from wastewater, was selected as the winning project in the Environmental Division at WEFTEC. Congratulations to the team!
